"Just relax, honey." ― To Amy

"Something Wrong, Master?" To Exetior while in a dress

Negagen is an antagonist first introduced in Sally.exe Continued Nightmare. He is the friend and apprentice of Exetior. He was originally voiced by Darkbox, which is currently voiced by Homieguy.

History[]

Past (Nightmare Shorts: Wave Perception)[]

As a Wave Demon, Negagen spent most of his time meditating around forests and surrounded by currents of water, deciding not to come into contact with any other demons.

One day, the demon was found by multiple mobians, and he quickly took their souls. Other Wave Demons were able to sense and locate Negagen as he tried to calm down the angered souls, leading to one of the demons, "Dia-Li-Lax", trying to attack him.

Unfortunately for Dia-Li-Lax, something quickly swept him away and knocked him unconscious. The entity before Negagen was Exetior, a Demon of Sharpness. Exetior then taught Negagen how to turn mobians into his brainwashed slaves. However, Dia-Li-Lax woke up and was finally ready to attack Negagen, but he used his minions to defeat the demon, all whilst contemplating why Exetior didn't attack him.

Negagen spent months trying to find Exetior after learning that he was actually a Highest in disguise and found him being confronted by Demons of Sharpness as well as Demons of Gap. Negagen sent an army of brainwashed souls into battle but was defeated and left unconscious.

He later woke up to find Exetior near him, back in the forest where they first met. Exetior thanked Negagen for his assistance, then said he should go back to his regular lifestyle and leave the fighting to him, but Negagen persisted, and Exetior allowed Negagen to accompany him. During the time he spent with Exetior, he formed a friendship with him and learned how to fight and socialize.[1]

A year later, Negagen was caught up in the war between the Demons and the Highests, with the Highests coming out on top and exiling Negagen to solitude in prison. Thousands of years later, Negagen was freed by Exetior, who had escaped his prison. Negagen was advised by Exetior to prepare a disguise, and he decided to shapeshift into a blue version of Super Sonic.

Shadow Menace[]

Negagen is first seen near Pervision, commenting on Exetior’s concerning behaviour. He then confronts Biblio, who then threatens him, which enrages Negagen into attacking Biblio some more. Negagen then speaks to Exetior, pleading for him to calm down and take a break. With help from Pervision, he convinces Exetior to go on vacation.

He then speaks with Pervision, where Negagen expresses concern over Exetior’s mental well-being. However, is phone rings and he leaves, needed to see to something else

Sally.exe Continued Nightmare[]

|<The information shown below is part of a simulation.>
Negagen is only seen after an Easter Egg involving Amy battling an Orbinaut, where he is in front of the mind-controlled Amy.

Sally.exe Continued Nightmare: Eye of Three[]

Negagen doesn't appear until Part 2. He appears in multiple endings there, as he has a connection or part in playing the endings out. He can subdue Amy for some of the bad endings in which she is defeated, and even sends her to an alternate dimension with no escape.

When Amy gets sent into Negagen Temple, she is transported into Star Light Zone. She then is put into the body of a Motobug by Negagen, with him about to take her body. He tries to talk to Amy but fails and starts to chase her after taking control of her body. After his souls mess with Amy and transport her to different places, he prepares to brainwash her for good, but Cream is teleported to Temple and intervenes, spindashing him out of the way. Cream is then knocked unconscious by Negagen and he tries to brainwash Amy again, but she resists due to the blue emerald dropped by Cream. Then, Amy fights him.

Negagen is the primary antagonist in the Betray-Tion Ending. Amy fights Negagen, but in her struggle to defeat him, accidentally kills Cream while she is mind controlled. Amy mourns Cream's death, and then approaches the unconscious Negagen to tear him in half with a spindash, destroying his physical form. In the Sleep-Ever and Trappy-Hap Endings, he manages to subdue Amy and sends her to Last Dream, where she meets Limely.

In the canon event, he is seen again lying unconscious next to an injured Exetior, who is sadly looking at him, with Sark looking over what seems to be their imminent demise before it fades out.

Sally.exe: Whisper of Soul[]

Negagen makes a very minor appearance in Knuckles (Exeller)'s solo ending. After Pervision leads Exeller to Exetior, Negagen can be seen behind Exetior. Exeller makes fun of Negagen, calling him Exetior's girlfriend, before Exetior tells Exeller that he is his apprentice. Negagen tries to read Exeller's thoughts and intentions but fails. Exetior then has Negagen leave so he can talk to Exeller.

Personality[]

Negagen behaves in a calm manner due to having very poorly manifested emotions.[1] Due to this, he is seen as emotionless by others' standards.[2] He can imitate emotions if it feels necessary to him,[3] but he cannot experience blind rage, blind joy, or other things like that.[4] Despite this, Negagen can emulate anger and sadness, as shown in Shadow menace when he seemed saddened by Exetior’s deteriorating emotional state and when he shouted at Zeal to shut up. He endears Amy out of politeness[5] and as a way to try and make her feel comfortable, which does not work.

He is also a very loyal and trustworthy individual, showing great gratitude to Exetior for saving his life and dedicating himself to protecting and assisting him. However, he has a poor understanding of the laws of Mobius,[6] as shown in the end of Wave Perception. He also seems to have a poor understanding of humour and also sometimes mixes up phrases such as “please” and “you’re welcome.” He’s also somewhat empathetic and nurturing for a demon, rescuing and taking in Zeal, in hopes of raising him to be better than other sharpers.

Like other wavers, Negagen is a pacifist and doesn’t seem to enjoy hurting others, wanting to subdue and knock out Amy without hurting her, asking Zeal and Biblio to not fight eachother and also turning down the opportunity to learn how to fight in favour of using his own methods. However, despite not enjoying it, by the time of EOT part 2, he’s rather skilled at it. Whether he eventually decided to learn how to use his abilities offensively or this was simply his own power compared to mortals is unclear.

While Negagen will often prefer to resolve things peacefully and diplomatically, he often does resort to using hypnosis to enforce obedience, which can be seen with Zeal twice. And while he isn’t a lover of fighting, he also isn’t against it.

Negagen also has an interesting habit of imitating the behaviours of others, going through phases of choosing a person to copy, such as speaking politely and formally in Shadow Menace, like Cream, while being calm and polite with a tone more like Pervision to Amy.

Appearance[]

When not in his true form, Negagen takes the appearance of Super Sonic, with a few changes. Instead of golden, he is light blue, and his irises are blue with white pupils. His eyes are often lidded, and glow faintly. He has three spines on the sides of his head instead of two.

His true form is an amorphous shape which is made of a durable shell of water. Core stones, which emit a cyan blue glow, can be seen in his body, two of which resemble eyes.

Abilities[]

Negagen's primary power is his ability to hypnotize people and take control of their souls, turning their colours negative. This is mainly achieved through a large energy beam he can shoot. However, this can be countered and prevented through a blind stone.

His hypnotized victims' souls are sent to a world of happy illusions, while their bodies simply follow Negagen's orders without objection. They gradually lose their memories while stuck in the illusory worlds. These hypnotized servants behave similarly to in their normal state, but are devoid of bright emotions and have no desire to be self-willed.[1]

Negagen can also teleport himself and other individuals to wherever he wants, shoot energy beams, fly, and swap bodies with his victims as well as transport them into different bodies.

Negagen is immortal, and cannot die, although he can be taken out of his physical form. Outside of his physical form, like other demons, he’d be a ghost soul. As a ghost soul, he’s completely defenceless until he gains a body again.

As a wave demon, his outer body is made of water. Since negagen can shapeshift, it can b assumed he has some form of Hydrokinesis.

Negagen also is able to hypnotise other demons. However, due to stronger demons having a higher resistance, his control over other demons is only temporary.

In Death Mark 3, before seeing Abyss Sally, he was willing to confront Crally. Due to his manipulation of souls, it’s safe to assume he’s capable of extracting parasites from their hosts.

Negagen is also an empath. While he can’t feel emotions himself, he can feel them second hand from the souls of those experiencing the emotions.

Negagen’s tolerance for pain and danger is remarkably high, to the point that Pervision believes that he would remain nonchalant while getting torn apart.

Relationships[]

Exetior[]

Exetior and Negagen are master and apprentice, and each other's only known friend. They trust each other. Negagen is loyal and obedient towards Exetior, an example being when he refuses to let Amy go because Exetior told him to keep her there. He has great gratitude for Exetior having saved him in the past and feels an interest and affection for him.[2] Exetior is shown to care about Negagen various times, a few examples being from how he apologizes to him in the Ex-aitor Ending and when he expresses concern for Negagen as he hadn't returned in the Betray-Tion Ending. Being his mentor, Exetior also teaches him things sometimes. Negagen also feels concern for Exetior, often reading his soul to analyse his emotional state.

Sark[]

Sark has been seen attacking Negagen one time, so they don’t have a good relationship. Even worse because of Sark’s betrayal to Exetior. Negagen is neutral to Sark, despite Sark disliking Negagen.

Zeal[]

Zeal is Negagen’s surrogate son, After rescuing and gaining the young sharper’s trust, the two became very close. Despite Zeal’s loyalty and overprotectiveness, his attitude towards others has led to Negagen having to shout at or even hypnotise the younger demon. Although, immediately after, he was concerned that he went too far.

he also doesn’t approve of him fighting with Biblio, asking them not to fight with eachother but not taking any further action.

Trivia[]

  • His name is a palindrome.
  • Negagen's name comes from "negative power".[7]
  • His appearance is modeled after the character "Anti.dll", who is actually an entity against Sonic.exe.[8] This is rather ironic, since Negagen is an apprentice to the main EXE of NU.
  • His colors were wrong in the older versions of Sally.exe Continued Nightmare: Eye of Three, and he more closely resembled Anti.dll with blue blood coming from his eyes.
  • According to Jaiz, Negagen likes treats that remind him of water. His favorites are ice and ice cream.
  • He is Jaiz Koys' least favorite character.[9] Jaiz does not dislike him but finds Negagen to be a little boring due to not showing much of his character.[10]
    • This is also partly because he finds Negagen difficult to work with, since the character is hard to write without another character to make the first more
  • Most of his servants are hypnotized Mobians,[11] but some of his Mobian servants are not hypnotized as they agreed to obey him implicitly without challenging his decisions.[12]
  • 1% of his servants are hypnotized very young Demons of Sharpness.[12] Those Sharpers were not as affected by the bloodthirstiness inherent in their type of Demon, and Negagen helped the Demons' souls become calmer and less aggressive.[13] They are less aggressive and can contain their rage more easily, as well as more reasonable. Their auras are neutral.[14]
  • According to JaizKoys, despite using masculine pronouns by default, Negagen doesn’t identify as either male or female and is neutral to other pronouns.
